so last night i headed over to kardinya (just outside of fremantle) to kathy and kyle’s birthday bash, and a bash it was. after initially being terrified of venturing on my lonesome in taxis and trains to a place where i was bound to know little to no-one, i forced myself to take the plunge. kyle is zac’s aunty’s best friend’s son and kathy is his girlfriend of 3 years - both are lovely! the party’s theme was ‘sacrilegious’ taking inspiration from good friday, so i arrived to find dead jesus’s and kony’s dotted around the pool and bar area. i was already quite drunk when i arrived, after downing a few red wines over dinner for some liquid courage, and spent the rest of the evening sharing some passionfruit absolut vodka with kathy. needless to say i was preetty wasted. had some great chats with some hilarious people who i wish i could remember the names of! also tried the aussie alternative to lambrini, eeyuck. journeyed back home this morning thanks to a lift with my disgruntled mum (“this isn’t just outside of fremantle!”) and then headed back to freo a few hours later for the street arts festival. sadly it was nowhere near as good as last year as there was only a handful of hammy comedians lining the streets instead of amazing breakdancers.
tonight is my penultimate night in perth and i have to say i will be sad to leave. my time here has gone so quickly.
